You will find here below a small description of the Maintenance & Engineering Department and a brief description of the jobs linked to it.
Please be aware that this represents a short outline of the different functions within TNT Airways in order to give a general idea of our numerous activity areas.

Maintenance & Engineering Department

Mechanics

As part of the Maintenance & Engineering team, the Mechanic assists the licensed engineer in performing all maintenance tasks to the required standard both in quality and professionalism in order to provide TNT Network with on-time serviceable aircraft to meet the flying programme. Of course he/she needs to be flexible and able to work in shift. A Part 66 level A license is required.

Licensed engineer

The Licensed Engineer ensures that all maintenance tasks on the aircraft are performed promptly and correctly in accordance with the required standard. He/she is in direct support to TNT Network by achieving on-time serviceable aircraft, working in shift. He/she holds a JAR 66 B1 (or B2) aircraft engineering license or national equivalent.

Line maintenance controller

The Line Maintenance Controller is a licensed engineer with minimum 5 years experience on at least one of the TNT operated aircraft’s. The Line maintenance controller plans, controls, coordinates and follows-up all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance activities performed on all TNT operated aircraft’s as requested by the operators planning departments. He/she is able to work in shift (day/night, including week-end and bank holiday). He/she is fluent technical and conversational English.

Maintenance Planner (Planning – control)

The role of the Maintenance Planner consists in planning and monitoring Engineering Orders as provided by the contracted maintenance organisations. He/she also ensures that all scheduled maintenance is carried out with the agreement of the BCAA aircraft maintenance schedule of the entire TNT Airways fleet. He/she has got A1 certificate (preferable in aviation techniques) and is able to demonstrate accuracy and communication skills.

Aircraft Maintenance Storekeeper

With a good team spirit, the storekeeper has as duty to perform store activities under direct supervision following applicable rules in order to support the maintenance activities of the aircraft. He/she also helps the inspector to receive aircraft spares consignments, to verify their contents and to check the condition and compliance with the order of A/C spare received. Fluent in English, he/she is able to work in shift (day and night) as well as on week-ends and public holidays.

Fleet Advisor

Bright to make analyses, correct decisions and propose solutions in a quick manner, the Fleet Advisor follows-up the daily process of all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance activities performed on a specific aircraft type. Moreover, he/she liaises with LMC to assure that all relevant Technical information is available. With a good understanding of applicable Regulatory Authority Requirements, he/she is a licensed engineer with at least 5 years experience.
